Founded in 1926 by Bob, Bill and Barnaby Ollerton, Cleansweep has long been the chief rival of the Comet Trading Company. The Cleansweep 1 holds the distinction of being the first broom ever built purely for sport.

The Cleansweep Series is popular among pro and amateur flyers as a less-expensive alternative to Comets. They're known to be more sturdy and resilient, but not as good at braking (sudden slowing) or cornering (manueverability). However, Cleansweeps are renowned for their easy handling and smooth flight, requiring less effort to control.
