Hogwarts Express MUSH

These are the rules you must +agree to before submitting an e-mail application.

1. Hogwarts Express has a PG-13 rating, which extends across public areas. Channels are considered to be PG. The adult area is darker and grittier than the student area, but players are always within their rights to ask for it to be toned down. If someone asks you to ramp down the violence, language, or sexual content, fastforward, or fade to black, please respect his boundaries.

2. This is an all-ages game; there are minors and adults. The staff cannot and will not act in loco parentis - parents of underage players should be aware of what their children are doing on the Internet.

3. Tinysex, or roleplaying sex, is not allowed in public areas. Minors may not engage in Tinysex under any circumstances; it is illegal by US law. Do not lie about your age to bypass this rule. Adult players may not knowingly engage in TS with a minor. Both will get you banned on first time offense.

4. Harassment is not tolerated. Harassment can occur through page, @mail, OOC commentary, IC "meta" commentary, or off-MUSH means of communication such as e-mail or IM, among other means. If someone bothers you, page them directly and ask them to stop. If players cannot solve issues between themselves in a reasonable manner, staff members will step in. Harrasment applies to both players and staff. Don't page staff members who are listed as "off duty" on +staff and don't page dark staff members "just to check."

5. This is primarily a consent-based game. You may not control any character's actions but your own. Do not kill or injure other characters without their consent unless you're in a GMed scene with special caveats.

6. This game adheres to ICA=ICC, or In Character Actions equal In Character Consequences. You are held responsible for your character's IC actions, and you are expected to think of any consequences your character may face throughout the course of RP. This is especially important if your character engages in something that may involve possible IC discipline, incarceration, or death.

7. Do not use OOC information ICly. Similarly, IC does not equal OOC. IC conflict should not lead to player conflict.

8. Don't hack. Any activities which compromise the integrity of the server and the DB are strictly forbidden.

9. If you're interested in running scenes or tinyplots, take some time later to glance at 'news tinyplots' to get an idea of what needs staff approval and what does not.

10. Players cannot create OOC characters; they should not be making alts just for sitting around and chatting out of character.

11. You are expected to adhere to theme and canon. Staff reserves the right to interpret canon.

Typing +agree indicates that you have read and agree to follow these rules throughout your time on Hogwarts Express MUSH.

If you would like to take a look at some of our other policies or more in-depth information on some of these rules you can view 'news policies;' however, these are not required reading for approval.
