Hogwarts Express MUSH

Consent involves players giving permission for certain things to happen to their characters. Generally, players are not allowed to control any character's action but their own. However, when it comes to situations like combat and conflict, consent becomes especially important.

1. Any scene that would have a major effect on a character must be discussed OOCly before the scene occurs with the parties affected, and consent must be obtained. Such scenes include, but are not necessarily limited to, anything that would hurt a character, blow their cover, lead directly or indirectly to their death, or the casting of any spells upon the character.

2. Some scenes, especially those for major TPs, operate under implied consent - your presence indicates your consent to any badness that comes your way throughout the course of or as a result of the scene. The person running the scene (usually staff) will announce beforehand the consent level and caveats. The level of consent will not be exceeded.

3. Once you've agreed to a certain result of a scene, you cannot decide to change the end result without consulting everyone involved and getting their permission to do so.

4. Aurors are authorized to use the Unforgivables in the course of their work, and Death Eaters are not obliged to refrain from using them. If you think you are heading towards a situation where this would be a concern and you don't want it to occur, pause the scene and discuss the consequences OOCly. If you do not, you will still be held to them.
