Hogwarts Express MUSH

On Hogwarts Express, we realize that when players make their characters and play them for a long time, the characters do sometimes go in directions unplanned for. In some cases, this can lead to a situation where a character would really like to pursue a career in a certain field, but didn't take the proper electives in their third or sixth year. Thus, for Ministry jobs only, we are offering a remedials option.

Effectively, what this means is that if you are missing one class that is required for a Ministry job, you may still apply for it. You have no guarantee of being accepted (particularly if the graduating class has a lot of applicants to that field in your year), but the option is available. There are a few rules and drawbacks to it.

1. You may only take a single remedial of the required courses. If you are missing more than one, you will be turned down outright.

2. You must make an otherwise exceptional candidate. If you have a couple A's and an E for your other NEWT scores, the Ministry will not want to invest it's time in you. Mostly O's with an E thrown in is where you want to be.

3. Your time as a trainee will be extended by between 6 and 12 months, as a rough estimate, depending on what it is you didn't take. You need Care of Magical Creatures and you never touched it? That's closer to 12 months. Regretting not taking Potions? Well, that might be more towards six months, since you only missed 2 IC years of class instead of 5.

4. You MUST note, in your Ministry application, that you will need to take remedials in that particular course.
