Hogwarts Express MUSH

This is a ten-person wizarding court, whose members may or may not have other wizarding jobs. Members are appointed to the position by the Minister of Magic and serve for life in all but the most serious of cases. They are paid as cases arise but do not convene all the time: it is a civil service position kept on retainer. They are convened to hear criminal cases. They are also convened if a law is in dispute or a new law needs to be passed, working muchlike Parliament. The Wizengamot works directly with the Minister of Magic.

Prominent members in this time would include Crouch and Albus Dumbledore. There is also a crew of support staff, such as clerks and lawyers, working to bring forth the cases and provide defense or prosecution as necessary. Those members interested in serving as lawyers would start as a clerk of some sort, and later take the wizarding bar exam to rise to the rank of attorney.

Inside the courtroom, which is located in a dungeon room of the Ministry of Magic, prisoners are escorted by Dementors to a chair in the centre of the chamber. High-profile criminals are bound to it by enchanted chains. The Wizengamot sit on the right-hand and listen to the prosecutor who questions the accused and eventually demands a verdict. The judge at the proceedings for high-profile criminals is the Head of the Department of MLE, currently Crouch.
