Hogwarts Express MUSH

Reversal experts specialize in clean up and reversing any transfigurations or charms that need to be removed. For example: When Harry blew up his aunt, reversal experts would have been the ones who deflated her. They should also be familiar with memory charms, though they do not need to be as skilled in them as obliviators.

NEWT Recommendations:
Required: Charms, Muggle Studies, Transfiguration, Potions

Reversal Trainee: An expert at reversing spells cast, a trainee in this field will be the mirror reflection of an obliviator. Their primary task is to reverse the magic cast, not clear the minds of muggles who spotted it. So, a reversal expert will be called in to remove the illusion of horses playing baseball at a muggle baseball game while an obliviator squad would focus on locating those from the crowd and altering their memories. Basic memory charms and all forms of magic reversal are covered in the training. A strong knowledge of the muggle world is useful so they have an idea how things should look when they are done.

Reversal Expert: A reversal expert will have completed the basic training and will be skilled in reversing the effects of charms, transfigurations, and potion effects caused by accidental or purposeful uses of magic. This does not include artifacts, as that is generally left to cursebreakers, though the effects caused by the artifacts may fall under one of these categories. Cross-training with cursebreakers is suggested, but not required or covered in the basic training. At this point, they may help in the training of trainees.

Senior Reversal Expert: A senior reversal expert almost always specializes in one of the three primary categories of reversal (Potions, Charms, Transfiguration) and maintains a working knowledge of all three general areas. They may also lead MAC squads at this point and should spend some time teaching trainees. Finally, research into new methods of cursebreaking is encouraged, though new discoveries are rare.

Head Reversal Expert: This person reports directly to the head of the MAC department regarding everything involving the reversal experts. This individual oversees the senior reversal experts directly, being responsible for providing opportunities for them to further educate themselves and resolving conflicts. The head reversal expert also heads out on major events like those of the senior reversal experts do. They are also responsible for conducting annual reviews and making recommendations to Human Resources about staff issues.
