Hogwarts Express MUSH

Obliviators deal with clearing and replacing the memories of muggles in case of a disaster or leak of information about the magical world. They are often called to clean up after the aurors, who may have been spotted in their line of work. They must be creative to work out plausible excuses and strong in memory charms.

NEWT Recommendations:
Required: Charms, Muggle Studies, Defense, and Transfiguration

Obliviator Trainee: A fresh obliviator, this is the sole training rank for all obliviators. Here they're brought up to speed on how the department works, the specific charms that all obliviators need to use regularly (memory charms, basic defense review, transfiguration, interrogation, etc.), and are introduced to their co-workers.

Obliviator: The rank that most obliviators will spend the most time at. This is a fully-fledged obliviator with all the rights and responsibilities expected of a full-time ministry employee. They may not lead a MAC team at this level unless expressly requested to by the Head Obliviator or a Senior Obliviator. Their primary duties include tracking down muggles who may have witnessed a magical event and altering their memories. It should be noted thatobliviators may be sent, on occasion, into dangerous situations to assist in getting muggles out of the area. In these situations, the obliviator should take orders from the ranking Magical Law Enforcement member at the scene. They may also be asked to assist with the training of Obliviator Trainees. Finally, this rank will handle the majority of the day-to-day paperwork.

Senior Obliviator: This job title is much like that of an Obliviator, but with more responsibility. Senior Obliviators are not called in for routine events. They are often sent in for major events (sporting events, concerts, major catastrophes, etc.). They are also primarily in charge of the training of new obliviator trainees. Senior Obliviators are, as a whole, expected to be exceptional in the areas of transfiguration, muggle knowledge, and memory charms. Senior Obliviators may lead a full MAC squad to respond to an event, unlike an Obliviator. In addition, they are expected to be decent at defending against magic, but they do not need anything near the skill level as those in MLE. Finally, a Senior Obliviator must be skilled in crowd control and management.

Head Obliviator: This person reports directly to the head of the MAC department regarding everything involving the obliviators. This individual oversees the senior obliviators directly, being responsible for providing opportunities for them to further educate themselves and resolving conflicts. The head obliviator also heads out on major events like those of the senior obliviators do. They are also responsible for conducting annual reviews and making recommendations to Human Resources about staff issues.
