This department sees to the welfare of wizarding children across the nation. When a child has been abused or neglected, this department assesses the situation with the aurors, finds the child a foster home, and keeps tabs on them. They also keep an eye on Hogwarts, though generally all control of the school falls to the Headmaster and the Board of Govenors. They administer OWLs and NEWTs. If one wanted to be on the list to be a foster parent they would contact this department.
